Animal Sciences program in the College of Agricultural Sciences, allows to learn and explore biological principles applied to domestic livestock and companion animals. this education which allows to experience and understand the biology of how animals reproduce, how they grow, how they behave, their health and fitness, and how they fit into the fabric of Oregon agriculture. Domestic livestock in Oregon are economically vital to our economy, vital for the producers who care for and raise them, think about the nutritional health and well-being. Students will have an opportunity to work with a diversity of animals, from horses to cattle to chickens. And, as a graduate of this department, students will understand first hand the principles of the animal biology of food production and companion animal welfare. Some of the recent graduates have taken jobs in agricultural production or have pursued advanced training in science, the allied health fields including veterinary and human medicine, and even law.

International students live on-campus and in houses or apartments in the Corvallis area. For information about on-campus housing, please visit the website at http://oregonstate.edu/uhds/. If the student have a contract for on-campus housing, student can move into their residence hall on the Sunday prior to the beginning of their first term at OSU. Student should receive an assignment letter from University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) that will provide with their own hall and room assignment, as well as more detailed information about residence hall life. If student do not receive their assignment letter, email UHDS at UHDS@oregonstate.edu. Corvallis has several motels within 5 miles (8 kilometers) of the Oregon State campus.
