Ringkasan program
This program is to prepare knowledgeable, ethical, caring decision makers for students with special educational needs in the context of diverse and inclusive social groups, communities, families, and students. The goal is to prepare specialists to serve students and families with specific educational needs through: assessment and intervention, leadership and collaboration, clinical application, research, and practice. Student learning outcomes are able to demonstrate knowledge of general education curriculum, transition, developmentally appropriate needs and practices, and skill in planning and implementing effective instruction; able to demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills and uses these skills to build partnerships; able to demonstrate effective educational assessment, diagnosis, and evaluation knowledge and skills.
Modul program
The Foundations (12 credit hours) are EDADL 886 Historical and Philosophical Analysis of Education Credits: (3), EDCEP 816 - Research Methods in Education Credits: (3), EDCEP 912 - Psychological Bases of Educational Thought and Practice Credits: (3), EDCI 910 - Multicultural Curriculum Programming Credits: (3), Research courses (6 credit hours), Clinical experience (12 credit hours), Area of emphasis (48 credit hours minimum), Dissertation research (16 credit hours).
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the cognizant regional accrediting agency and undergraduate preparation in the proposed major field equivalent to that acquired by a graduate of Kansas State University, or evidence of an appropriate background for undertaking an advanced degree program. Applicants must have undergraduate grade average of 3.0 or better in the junior and senior years. Undergraduate preparation substantially equivalent to that given by K-State in the specific field in which the applicant expects to do graduate work and undergraduate preparation in closely related or supporting subjects adequate to support advanced work in the field of the applicant’s choice. Applicants must have 50th percentile for education students on the Miller Analogies Test or the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections of the Graduate Record Examination. International students whose native language is not English must make available the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 is required on the paper and pencil version of the TOEFL examination or a score of 213 on the computer version of the TOEFL.
