Ringkasan program
This emphasis focuses on understanding aquatic ecosystems, the ways those ecosystems function and the ways they are distributed in landscapes. The emphasis helps students and society understand the goods and services offered by various water bodies and the technologies as well as decisions needed to sustain those goods and services.
Modul program
The Twin Cities Courses are CE 4502 Water and Wastewater Treatment (3 cr), CE 8503 Environmental Mass Transport (4 cr), CE 8541 Aquatic Chemistry (3 cr), CE 8542 Chemistry of Organic Pollutants in Environmental Systems (3 cr), CE 8561 Analysis and Modeling of Aquatic Environments I (3 cr), CE 8562 Analysis and Modeling of Aquatic Environments II (3 cr), ENT 5081 Insects, Aquatic Habitat, and Pollution (3 cr), ESPM 5061 Water Quality and Natural Resources (3 cr), ESPM 5111Hydrology and Water Quality Field Methods (3 cr). The Duluth Courses are BIOL 5801Microbial Ecology (2 cr), BIOL 5803Water Pollution Biology (3 cr), BIOL 5833Stream Ecology (4 cr), BIOL 5861Lake Ecology (3 cr), BIOL 5862Advanced Lake Ecology (3 cr), BIOL 5867Managing and Monitoring Lakes and Streams (3 cr), BIOL 5868Ecotoxicology (3 cr).
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must have a bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in a physical, chemical or biological science or engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale). General examination GRE scores are required. Recommended academic preparation includes two courses each in calculus, chemistry, and physics, and one course in the biological sciences; computer-literacy (i.e. knowledge of basic computing skills); and competency in statistics (generally a 5000-level statistics course is taken as a supporting program course). Further preparation may be expected from students wishing to specialize in certain areas of the program. A minimum TOEFL score of 80 is required for international students.
