Ringkasan program
This program offers students a broad base of theatre courses and the ability to emphasize in a specific area, such as acting, directing, playwriting, design, management, or technical theatre. The degree prepares students for teaching at the high school or community college level, for professional theatre work, and for advanced study in theatre. 30 semester credits are required. All students must take: Greek and Roman Theatre (3 credits), Medieval and Baroque Theatre (3 credits), Modern Theatre (3 credits), a course in Technical Theatre or Theatre Management (3 credits) and a course in Acting, Directing or Playwriting (3 credits). The 15 remaining credits constitute electives which are usually in the student’s area of concentration. At least 15 credits must be at the 800 level. Each student must complete a creative project. Creative projects involve an extended original project with written reflection. A review of the candidate’s work is conducted through an oral examination administered near the end of the degree program.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the cognizant regional accrediting agency and undergraduate preparation in the proposed major field equivalent to that acquired by a graduate of Kansas State University, or evidence of an appropriate background for undertaking an advanced degree program. Applicants should have GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 hours of coursework. This GPA is based only on courses graded on a multi-level scale, usually A, B, C, D, and F. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must have a score of at least 600 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language administered by the TOEFL Program of the Educational Testing Service. Provisional admission can be granted with scores between 550 and 599. Students entering with scores between 550 and 599 must at the time of enrollment demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing English and in understanding spoken English to the satisfaction of the Graduate School.
