Ringkasan program
Students in Denver Seminary's Master of Arts in Counseling with a Community Counseling concentration receive solid clinical instruction in counseling methodologies, sound biblical training and encouragement and instruction on integrating their faith with their learning. Our professors have extensive counseling experience and are able to illustrate from personal example the application of these principles in the counseling field. While the program is academically challenging, students also have the opportunity for practical, hands-on application of theory to practice through the on-site practicum and external internship experiences. The Master of Arts in Counseling with a Community Counseling concentration includes practicum and internships in preparation for the state of Colorado licensure exam and work within a religious or secular clinical program. This program is consistent with licensure with the state of Colorado requirements and includes CACREP accreditation.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Degree-seeking applicants must have (or be close to receiving) a baccalaureate degree, or an educational equivalent, from an accredited institution. Applicants without a baccalaureate degree should see the section that follows for the undergraduate degree exemption (UDE) guidelines. For most degree offerings, a minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required. For the Master of Arts (Biblical Studies, Philosophy of Religion, and Theology); and the Master of Arts in Counseling (licensure), a minimum, cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required. Applicants whose GPA is below the required minimum may submit a Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score, which, if satisfactory, will enable eligibility for admission. This requirement may be waived if the applicant has 30 or more hours completed at the graduate level with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or if 15 hours of core curriculum courses (Old Testament, New Testament and theology) have been earned as a nondegree student at Denver Seminary with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This exception to normal policy does not apply to the Master of Arts in counseling (licensure), or Master of Arts (Biblical Studies, Philosophy of Religion, or Theology) program.
