Ringkasan program
This program provides students with valuable knowledge, skills, and competencies in working with individuals with special needs, especially those in multicultural populations. Students will master skills in assessment, program planning, behavioral and instructional interventions, and working as part of an interdisciplinary team with the school, family, and community and become familiar with adaptive technologies for individuals with special needs. The concentration is designed to allow students who have Michigan elementary or secondary teaching certificates to complete coursework necessary to add a Learning Disabilities (coded SM in Michigan) or Cognitive Impairments (coded SA in Michigan) K-12 endorsement on their certificate. The concentration is designed to meet the needs of working professionals with a range of evening, weekend, compressed format, online, and "mixed mode" (combination of online and face-to-face classes) courses.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Students should have a minimum of 3.0 or higher undergraduate grade point average. International students must have one of the following requirements: minimum TOEFL score of 84 (internet-based; minimum of 23 in reading and listening; 17 in speaking; and 21 in writing), 560 (paper-based; minimum of 56 in each section) and 173 (computer-based); IELTS with an overall band score of 5.0; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80 (minimum of 80 in each section); Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE).
