Ringkasan program
Students planning to continue to the Ph.D. level or those who desire a more specialized course of study are encouraged to follow the thesis track. In this program the coursework includes History 530 (Historiography), History 531 (Historical Research, Writing, and Editing), and History 590 (Thesis Writing). The student will also take three hours from each of the four fields listed above and six hours of elective history courses. No more than six hours of public history courses may be used to satisfy the requirements of this thesis track. Students wishing to pursue a public history program will take twelve hours of specific courses: History 530 (Historiography), History 535 (Introduction to Public History), and History 590 (Thesis Writing). The student will also take an additional twelve hours of public history courses and six additional hours of American history, three from each of the two American history fields.

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit results from Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). SFA requires a minimum composite TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test.
