The areas of concentration available are resource and environmental economics, trade and development, public health economics, and (for the MA/MS only) transportation economics. Students employ economic theories, principles, and methods to examine real-world problems with significant attention to data and institutions.

Modul program

The following are the modules: The core courses required of all MA and MS students are: AEC 512 Microeconomic Theory I (4 credits); AEC 513 Microeconomic Theory II (4 credits); AEC 515 Macroeconomic Theory (4 credits); AEC 523 Statistics and Optimization for Economics (4 credits); AEC 525 Applied Econometrics (4 credits); Students are required to obtain a B grade or above in each of the courses from the chosen concentration. Resource and Environmental Economics: AREC 550 Environmental Economics (3 credits); AREC 551 Natural Resource Economics (3 credits); One of the following: FOR 537 Valuation of Non-market Resources (3 credits); FOR 534 Economics of Forest Resources (3 credits); Trade and Development: AREC 543 Applied Trade Analysis (4 credits); One of the following: ECON 555 Economic Development (3 credits); FOR 535 Markets and Prices in the Forest Sector (3 credits); AREC 643 International Trade II (4 credits); Another 500-level course approved by the Student's Committee; Transportation Economics: ECON 565 Transportation Economics (4 credits); One of the following: AREC 550 Environmental Economics (3 credits); Another 500-level course approved by the Student's Committee; Public Health Economics: H 532 Economic Issues in Health and Medical Care (3 credits); H 533 Health Systems Organization (3 credits).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A "B" average (3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale) on the last two years of undergraduate work is required and any work completed thereafter. If the student has completed his or her baccalaureate degree in a country that is a signatory of the Bologna Declaration, then a baccalaureate degree of at least three years duration with a B average (equivalent 3.00 on a U.S. 4.00 grading scale) in the last two years, plus all subsequent graded course work is required or a baccalaureate degree of at least three years duration with a two-year (equivalent to 45-quarter credits) graduate degree. International applicants must have TOEFL scores as follows: Paper score of 550 (600); Internet (iBT) score of 80 (100) Minimum score of 18 on each section and IELTS score of 6.5.
