Ringkasan program
This program is recommended for students with a strong interest in the intellectual aspects of theatre - particularly dramaturgy, theatre history, and theatre theory. It is ideal for students interested in eventually pursuing a Ph.D. A maximum of two students are admitted to the M.A. program each year, ensuring a high degree of individual contact with faculty. The M.A. program with thesis is recommended for students with a strong interest in the scholarly and academic aspects of theatre. It consists of 36 credit hours. As part of the partnership with the Alley Theatre, students will have the opportunity to work with the Alley Theatre's Senior Dramaturg and Director of New Play Development.
Modul program
The modules are first semester (fall)-9 credits: Playwrights in Context or Selected Periods in Theatre History -3 credits, Dramaturgy for the 21st Century-3 credits, Elective-3 credits. Second Semester (spring)-9 credits: Dramatic Theory and Criticism-3 credits, Alley Theatre Dramaturgy Practicum (w/ Mark Bly)-3 credits, Elective-3 credits. Third Semester (fall)-9 credits: Playwrights in Context or Selected Periods in Theatre History -3 credits, Alley Theatre Dramaturgy Practicum (w/Mark Bly)-3 credits, Landscape of Theatre Scholarship-3 credits. Fourth Semester (spring)-9 credits: Thesis-6 credits, Elective-3 credits.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have an undergraduate degree in theatre or have completed at least 24 semester hours in theatre at the undergraduate or post-baccalaureate level with a grade point average of at least 3.00 (A = 4.00). Students should have secured a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based) on the test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or overall band score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
