Ringkasan program

This curriculum stresses the skills necessary to think critically, write clearly, argue persuasively, and solve problems effectively. Students are exposed to theory and research in a variety of subject areas and are encouraged to engage in active research and service beyond the classroom. Graduates of the program went to work with museums; and they were appreciated for their awareness of and sensitivity to the importance of art and artifacts to people's history, culture, and psyches. Several graduates are social workers, and are appreciated for their knowledge of historical and sociological issues relevant to Black families, children, men, and women. They are valued for their sensitivity to the fact that people of different cultures may be different without being deficient; and that one must seek to understand the culture as one develops paradigms for intervention.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicant must have completed the equivalent of an American secondary school education (usually 12 years of formal education) and have the appropriate graduation diplomas or satisfactory leaving examination results. Applicants still attending their secondary school (usually the first 12 years of schooling and equivalent to a U.S. high school) or if they have taken fewer than 15 credits (generally four to five courses or one-half year of study) at an institution of higher education after satisfactorily completing their secondary schooling can also apply. They should have grade point average of 3.0 in college-prep courses with B average. They must have obtained minimum TOEFL scores of 550 for paper-based test, 213 for computer-based test, and 79 for internet-based test; or they should have IELTS minimum score of 6.0.
