This program leads to the Master of Urban Planning and the Master of Architecture degree of the School of Architecture and Urban Design in four years. Applicants must meet admission requirements of both the School of Architecture and the Graduate Program in Urban Planning. Students pursuing the Master of Architecture may apply to the joint degree program during but not past their second year of study. Students pursuing the Master of Urban Planning may apply to the joint degree program during but not past their first year of study.

Admission requires a bachelor's degree and a grade point average of approximately 3.0 from the University of Kansas or another institution with substantially equivalent requirements for the bachelor's degree. Graduate Record Examination scores are required for all students beginning Spring 2008. student must present a record of 48 credit hours with a grade point average of at least 3.0.
