Ringkasan program
This degree combines the history of literatures in English, from the Medieval period to the 21st century, with literary theory and cultural criticism. The department also has graduate faculty who specialize in Film and Television Studies and Rhetoric and Composition.
Modul program
The modules are as follows: Completion of twenty-four credits of course work (normally eight courses), including ENGS 350 (Survey of Literary Theory and Criticism); ONE course from ENGS 320 (Studies in Literature to 1900); ONE course from ENGS 330 (Studies in 20th and 21st Century Literature); and ONE course from any of the other categories: ENGS 340 (Writing, Rhetoric and Composition), ENGS 360 (Advanced Theory), ENGS 370 (Film and Television Studies); and four additional courses. Students may take ONE 100- or 200-level course for graduate credit with approval of the course instructor, the Director of Graduate Studies, and the Graduate College.

Students should have an undergraduate major in English or its equivalent with a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Examination (general test only). International students should have a minimum acceptable TOEFL score of 80 on the internet based, 213 on the computer based, 550 on the paper based and a minimum of IELTS score of 6.5 is required for admission.
