Ringkasan program
This program is offered through an interdisciplinary partnership between two large and active entities, the Department of Media, Film and Journalism Studies and the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Students are able to choose from the breadth of coursework available in these two schools, while developing their own specific areas of concentration. Additionally, students are able to take advantage of electives and internships to develop expertise in their field of interest. Graduates of this program are prepared to pursue careers in international and intercultural public relations and marketing, TV, print and internet journalism, government diplomacy, cross-cultural and diversity training, college teaching and international education, conflict resolution and cross-cultural human resources/organizational communication.
Modul program
The program modules are as follows: MFJS 4650 International Communication (4 credits), MFJS 4912 Foundations in International and Intercultural Communication (4 credits), One of the following communication courses: MFJS 4210 Brands and Identities, MFJS 4652 Culture, Gender and Global Communication, MFJS 4912 International Health and Development Communication, MFJS 4912 Language, Power and Globalization, DMST 4200 Critical Approaches to Digital Media, COMN 4220 Critical Intercultural Communication (5 credits), COMN 4701 Colonial/Postcolonial Discourse and Theory, COMN 4110 Theories of Interpersonal Communication, COMN 4230 Issues in Intercultural Communication, One additional course in either MFJS or COMN, Four courses (20 credits) at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (INTS), One course (4–5 credits) in research methods (from media, film and journalism studies, communication studies or international studies), 5–10 credits (maximum) in thesis and/or internship courses (MFJS 4995 or MFJS 4980).
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have obtained a bachelor degree. They should have a minimum TOEFL score of 620 (paper based) or 105 (Internet based) and IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. In addition to this, GRE scores are also required.
