The dual master’s degree program allows students to pursue a concurrent program of study leading to both the Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Applied Anthropology and the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in one of eight concentration areas within public health: environmental health, epidemiology, global communicable disease, healthcare organizations and management, health policy and programs, maternal and child health, public health education, global health.

The modules are Applied Anthropology: ANG 6931 Foundations of Applied Anthropology 3, ANT 6701 Contemporary Applied Anthropology 3, ANT 6766 Research Methods in Applied Anthropology 3, Graduate level statistics course fulfilled by either ANG 5486 Quantitative Methods or PHC 6050 Biostatistics I 3, 5 graduate level seminars 15, One graduate level course outside the Department of Anthropology fulfilled by public health courses 3, ANG 6915 Internship - one semester, ANG 6971 Thesis - dually fulfills MPH requirement for Special Project 6, Comprehensive exam; Public Health: PHC 6000 Epidemiology 3, PHC 6050 Biostatistics I 3, PHC 6102 Principles of Health Policy and Management 3, PHC 6357 Environmental and Occupational Health 3, PHC 6410 Social and Behavioral Sciences Applied to Health 3, Concentration Requirements 12-24, Electives 3, PHC 6945 Supervised Field Experience fulfilled by ANG 6915-Internship 4, PHC 6977 Special Project fulfilled by ANG 6971-Thesis 6, PHC 6936 Public Health Capstone Course 3, comprehensive exam.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have one of the following: bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and satisfying at least one of the following criteria: “B” average or better in all work attempted while registered as an undergraduate student working for a degree or “B” or better average in all work attempted while registered as an upper division undergraduate student working for a baccalaureate degree. They should have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a previous graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution and the equivalent bachelors and/or graduate degrees from a foreign institution. Students should have a minimum TOEFL total score of 79 on the internet-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test. The TOEFL requirement may be waived if the students meets one of the following conditions: have scored 500 or higher on the GRE verbal test; earned a college degree at a U.S. institution of higher learning; earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript) or scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
