Ringkasan program

This program concentrates on the analysis of literary and critical discourses with emphases in such areas as holocaust and memory studies, film and visual culture, psychoanalysis, gender studies, German Shakespeare studies, folk traditions and the healing arts. The curriculum is designed to give students a firm grounding in the history of German letters and locate this literature within the context of modern European history and thought. The curriculum is organized around six required core courses, one of which is offered each term over a two-year cycle: GER 621, 622, 623, 624, 625, 690. These courses are grouped according to common themes so as to give the offerings a topical and critical coherence. Core courses are typically paired with seminars of related or complementary content, and students are encouraged to explore connections between courses.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must be a graduate of an accredited four-year college or university with an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0. Students whose native language is not English must supply results of either the test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) or the international English language testing system (IELTS). The department requires a TOEFL score of at least 88 (internet) or an IELTS overall score of 7.0.
