This specialization is designed to strengthen the management and business skills that students need to function effectively within the health care industry. The curriculum designed using guidelines outlined by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education includes a thorough study of health care strategic and financial management, health care policy analysis, and legal and ethical considerations within the industry. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing mid-level management or executive positions in the health care industry or in organizations serving the health care industry.

Core modules include: Professional Effectiveness: Stretch, Impact, Reposition MBA6010, Leading for Results MBA6020, Marketing and Brand Management MBA6110, Operations and Process Management MBA6130, Applied Managerial Statistics MBA6140, Accounting MBA6150, Financial Management MBA6160, Managing Information Assets and Technology MBA6180 and Strategy MBA6190. Specialization modules include: Strategic Management of Health Care Systems MBA6271, Health Care Financial Management MBA6273, Health Care Policy Analysis and Decision Making MBA6275 and Ethical and Legal Considerations in Health Care MBA6277. In addition students should choose 2 from the following: Sales and Customer Relationship Management MBA6120, Building Relationships MBA6210, Developing and Coaching Others MBA6220, Leading Teams MBA6230, Facilitating Change MBA6240, Leveraging Workplace Diversity MBA6250, Negotiating for Results MBA6260 and Regulatory and Ethical Environment of Business MBA6270. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is Global Operations and Supply Chain Management Capstone: Judgment, Planning, and Action - 3 quarter credits MBA6320. Capstone module to be taken in the final quarter is Health Care Management Capstone: Judgment, Planning, and Action MBA6370.

Students must have completed bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency or an internationally recognized institution. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.3 from a bachelor's degree granting institution. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
