Ringkasan program
This program will provide students with a foundation of knowledge on what is known about autism and how to help individuals with the disorder. The methods they learn will broaden their instructional repertoire and will apply to many individuals beyond those on the autism spectrum. Course work covers the understanding of autism, methods of teaching individuals with autism, high-functioning autism and Asperger syndrome, social competency and applied behavior analysis, plus learning theory, instructional leadership, instructional technology and research. This degree program will prepare students for work in education or in other related professions such as therapy, social work, health care, mental health and rehabilitation.

The modules includes the following: SPC ED 7300 Introduction to Special Education, SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Introduction to Autism, SPC ED 8440 Advanced Behavior Management: Applied Behavior Analysis, SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Methods of Teaching Students with Autism, SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Social Competence for Students with Autism, SPC ED 8387 Seminar: High Functioning Students with Autism, SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Young Children with Autism, ESC PS 7160 Developmental Aspects of Human Learning, ED LPA 8428 Curriculum Leadership, SPC ED 8350 Research with Exceptional Children, SPC ED 8210 Using Assessment to Guide Instruction, ISLT 9467 Technology to Enhance Learning.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
The students should have a baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework, a competitive Graduate Record Examination (GRE) combined scores of 900 or better in Verbal and Quantitative sections, official transcripts, two letters of reference and for international students TOEFL score of at least 600 for paper-based test or 250 for computer -based test or 100 for internet based.
