This program prepares those who aspire to leadership positions in student affairs within a college or university. For those who value in-person experiences and comprehensive internship opportunities, the face-to-face cohort is a wonderful way of building academic and personal connections. For interested applicants who are not able to come to campus but still want a rigorous curriculum, the online cohort offers a strong alternative. The program provides practical experiences and theoretical foundations offered within a diverse setting which prepares students to become good citizens in an increasingly complex and pluralistic society. It fosters mutual respect and teamwork and helps build communities whose members are judged by the quality of their character and their contributions. Graduates of the M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision - Higher Education may pursue the following careers: community college professor, higher education administrator, director of student activities, university registrar, director of student financial aid, dean of students and chief development officer.

The modules include college of education core (3 courses/9hours): Social Historical, and Philosophical Foundations of Education - ELCS 7365: Racial and Ethnic Diversity in Educational Institutions, Human Growth/Learning - EPSY 6330: Human Growth and Development, Inquiry - ELCS 6370: Research for Educational Leaders, Program Core (21 hours/7 courses): ELCS 6380: Educational Planning and Policy Development, ELCS 6322: Organization and Administration of Student Support Services in Higher Education, ELCS 6336: The Two-Year College, ELCS 6332: Student Development/Student Affairs, ELCS 7330:Administration of Higher Education I, ELCS 6310: Interpersonal Communications, ELCS 6340: Student Persistence: Theories and Intervention.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have earned a four-year baccalaureate degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university, equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree. They must have earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 to be unconditionally accepted into the master’s program. Those students with a GPA less than 3.0, but not below 2.6 (A = 4.0) may be admitted conditionally. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper based exam or 213 for the computer-based exam or 79 on the Internet based (iBT) is generally acceptable proof of English proficiency. The minimum required IELTS score for admissions is 6.5 on a scale from 1 to 9.
