In this program, students majoring in counseling, family, and human services with a specialization in couples and family therapy leads to a master of education (M.Ed.) degree. This two-year program trains students as professional family therapists in preparation for state licensure. This intensive training combines a strong theoretical base in systemic therapy with applied clinical experience. The clinical practicum includes 400 client contact hours (50 percent with couples or families) and eighty hours of individual and group supervision. Supervision at the Center for Family Therapy involves live observation, participation in reflecting teams, and video- and audio taped sessions. In addition, students see clients at community agencies. This specialization combines a strong theoretical base in systemic therapy with applied clinical experience. Courses include theoretical foundations in family dynamics, family development, ecological considerations that influence individual and family functioning, systemic assessment and treatment, research methods, and professional ethics. This specialization requires a minimum of 73 graduate credits.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must be a graduate of an accredited four-year college or university. Students must have a GRE minimum score of 1000; MAT minimum scaled score of 59 percent or raw score of 410. Students must have a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 575 on the paper-based test or 88 on the internet based test or minimum IELTS (academic module) overall band score of 7.0.
