Ringkasan program
This program places primary importance on the ability of students to be critical agents, to seek problems and to pose questions. Faculty evaluate graduate students on their ability to define individual investigations and to support their decision-making with an independent program of reading and research; an ability to critically evaluate and articulate discoveries; and an ability to synthesize ideas through the creation of design projects. It provides a research dimension. Students contribute to the understanding of graphic design through investigations into its history, theory, criticism and methodology, as well as its practice. Graduate students come from a variety of academic and professional practice backgrounds. The department accepts students who have an undergraduate degree in graphic design or comparable professional practice experience, as well as those with degrees in other disciplines who see a connection between their previous study and graphic design.

Students should have completed at least one year of full-time study in a degree program at a four-year US College or university. They must be a citizen of a country where English is an official language and the language of instruction in higher education. International students should have a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the internet-based Test (iBT) and a minimum test scores for each section: listening (15 points), reading (20 points), writing (20 points) and speaking (20/23/26 points). The maximum total score for the iBT is 120 with each section worth 30 points. They should have an overall band IELTS score of at least 6.5 and a minimum test scores for each section: listing (6.5), reading (6.5) and writing (6.5).
