Ringkasan program
This degree is awarded in all major fields upon completion of the requirements described in “program components and requirements” and listed in “course requirements by major”. The two-year master of music degree program combines advanced study in a specific concentration with coursework. It develops broad musical expertise and artistically sound interpretive skills. Students are required to take major lessons and participate in performance classes throughout their residency.
Modul program
Modules covered are Major Lessons 24, Vocal Accompaniment Seminar I and II 8, Diction 2, Analysis for Graduate Students 3, Vocal Literature Classes 8, Introduction to Graduate Studies 3, Professional Performance Obligation 2, Graduation Recital 2, Seminar 2. Prerequisites: Theory II; Ear Training II; Dictation II; Keyboard II; Score Reading; Music History I and II; proficiency in two languages (choice of Italian, French, or German).

Applicants applying for admission should submit the completed application form including a personal statement and the Mannes scholarship essay. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete the departmental requirements. All candidates for the Master of Music degree must be in residence for four semesters. Applications may be submitted through the Unified Application for Music and Performing Arts Schools. Online applications are strongly preferred over paper applications. Applicants' whose English is not their first language, they will be required to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A minimum score of 88 on the Internet-based examination or 230 on the computer-based test is required.
