Ringkasan program

This program is designed to train individuals in molecular, cellular and organ systems pharmacology. The program provides advanced science knowledge in pharmacology and is designed for individuals who are seeking additional academic qualifications that will facilitate their advancement in their place of employment or will enhance their competitiveness for admission to other advanced degree programs. The master of science degree in pharmacology and toxicology is appropriate for graduates of biology- or chemistry-related undergraduate programs. Course work provides freedom to explore those physiological systems that will allow students to continue to expand their knowledge of pharmacology, while providing additional academic qualifications that will facilitate student career and professional development.

The modules include PHM 819 - Principles of Drug-Tissue interactions (2 - available in summer and fall); PHM 830 - Experimental Design and Data Analysis (3 - summer and fall); PHM 980 - Special Problems in Pharmacology (2 - summer, fall, spring); PHM 431 - Pharmacology of Drug Addiction (3 - summer); PHM 450 - Introduction to Chemical Toxicology (3 - summer and fall); PHM 563 - Medical Pharmacology (3 - summer); PHM 813 - Cardiovascular Pharmacology (3 - summer); PHM 829 - Neuropharmacology (2 - fall); PHM 831 - Endocrine Pharmacology (2 - fall); PHM 833 - Gastro-Intestinal and Liver Pharmacology (2 - spring); PHM 834 - Respiratory Pharmacology (2); PHM 840 - Safety Pharmacology (2 - spring); MT/BLD 830 - Concepts in Molecular Biology (2 - typically fall, but check Registrar); VM 812 - Food Safety Toxicology (3 - typically spring, but check Registrar).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students are required to complete their bachelor’s degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree, as well as high scholastic standing and suitable preparation for the intended field of study. Students should have obtained a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Students whose first language is not English and who are admitted to Michigan State University with regular admission must meet one of the following language proficiency requirements. They should have also obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 80 on internet based test (with no sub score below 19 for reading, listening, and speaking; no writing sub score below 22) and 550 on paper based test (with no sub score below 52). An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher is also required. An average score of at least 80 to 85 with no subs score below 80 is required for Michigan State University English Language Test (MSUELT) and an average score of 83 or higher (with no sub score below 80) is required for Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
