The MSPH program provides rigorous training in biostatistical methods and their applications. Students in this program are trained for positions in government and private health agencies, industry, and research institutes. The MSPH program may also serve as a preparation for entering a doctoral program in biostatistics.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Admission Requirements are a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is required for admission into the MSPH and MPH programs. Successful completion of calculus of more than one variable and a course in linear algebra are required for admission to the Biostatistics MSPH and MPH programs. Applicants must submit GRE scores unless they have a doctoral degree in a comparable field. Scores for all sections of the GRE must be above the 50th percentile. International applicants whose native language is not English must attain a score of 560 or more on the paper Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 220 or higher on the computer based TOEFL. Admissions criteria are previous studies and grades, especially in quantitative courses such as mathematics, statistics, and computer sciences; Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, especially the quantitative and analytic portions; letters of recommendation that allow the evaluation of the applicant's quantitative abilities and background in public health; and course work, experience, or interest in health-related subjects.

Rollins School of Public Health comprises six academic departments: behavioral sciences and health education, biostatistics, global health, epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, and health policy and management. Research funding recorded in 2006 totaled $37.7 million. The school offers dual degrees with medical, nursing, business, and law as well as the distance-based career MPH degree. The school has more than 160 full-time faculty. Through its collaborations with the CDC, The Carter Center, the American Cancer Society, CARE, the Arthritis Foundation, the Task Force for Child Survival and Development, and state and local public health agencies, and in its role as a center for international health research and training, the school helps make Atlanta a worldwide destination for public health.
