Ringkasan program

The primary objective of the graduate program in social work is the preparation of students for effective independent professional social work practice and supervision at the advanced level of the profession. The 33-hour program (advanced standing) is specifically designed for qualified BSWs. The 63-hour program is open to all baccalaureate graduates. Students can complete the 33-hour advanced standing program in one or two years, and the 63-hour program can be completed in two, or four years. Additionally, both degree options require field education internships. Students in the advanced 33-hour program complete either a block internship (SOCW 6376 and 6377) over one semester or split the internship over two semesters during the second year of study (SOCW 6376 in fall and SOCW 6377 in spring). Students in the 63-hour program complete a 400-hour foundation block internship (SOCW 6670) and a 500-hour block concentration internship. Students in the 63-hour program can also elect to complete the 900-hour field education requirement over four semesters (SOCW 6370, 6371, 6376, and 6377).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants for regular standing (63-hour program) must have completed a bachelor’s degree and a basic statistics course within the previous five years. Applicants for Advanced Standing (33-hour Program) must have completed BSW from a CSWE accredited program with a GPA of 3.2 in social work core courses and a basic statistics course completed within the previous five years. All International applicants whose native language is not English must have obtained Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 500 for paper/pencil tests or 173 for computer based tests or 61 for internet-based tests. The minimum acceptable score for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is 6. The minimum test score for ACT is 18 and SAT 850.
