Ringkasan program
This program seeks to prepare graduates to make demonstrable improvements in the quality of life of at-risk and vulnerable populations across individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, the state of Tennessee, the nation, and society. This concentration is designed to develop a student’s skills in management and analysis of complex service delivery needs within organizations and communities, knowledge and skills in the development of service intervention strategies, and organizational and management skills that enable practitioners to work in a variety of environments.

Applicants must have the following for admission : 1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with (a) preparation in the social sciences (at least three-fourths of the undergraduate work should be in the social sciences, humanities, physical sciences, and other liberal arts subjects), (b) a course in Human Biology, and (c) a liberal arts perspective (course work from at least four of these five areas: economics or mathematics; government, political science, or history; sociology or anthropology; psychology; philosophy, literature, or the arts). 2. A cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the full-time and extended study programs and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the advanced standing program. 3. Personal qualifications acceptable for entrance into the professional practice of social work. 4. Current scores from the general section of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). The College does not specify a minimum score for admission; the scores are considered within the context of total application materials. Preference is given to applicants with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above in their undergraduate work and with substantial preparation in the social sciences.
