The wonderful impression I had before coming to Bangor is not farfetched. The welsh people are very nice and friendly. It is also easy to learn from different cultures due to the easy interaction among different nationalities. Racism is very low both on campus and in the city of Bangor. Above all, the lecturers are very helpful and experts in their subject areas. The university waived a £1,000 from my tuition and accommodation fee. This was a special package for most international students from certain developing countries. It was a great relief, despite the low cost of tuition and accommodation fee at Bangor compared to many other university cities. I often receive enough support from my lecturers as well to enable me excel academically. I urge prospective students to consider Bangor University as their first choice school. It is a highly ranked institution among leading UK universities. The environment is conducive for learning, the teaching is excellent and above all, the cost of living is lower than many universities in larger cities. Considering the kind of technical knowledge I am acquiring at Bangor, I must say that the future looks very bright.

My first few days at Bangor University was very impressive. Registration of courses and with other organisations such as medical centres were properly organised/arranged to enable one complete a lot of activities within a day. The students' records department was very helpful to enable me open a bank account at the Bangor high street within the first few days. The students' union organised an orientation for international students to familiarise us with the environment and with each other. The Business School at Bangor University offers a wide range of learning opportunities at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels. It is highly ranked among the leading UK universities. The school was awarded a 5-rating in the most recent UK Research Assessment Exercise. It has a highly dedicated staff who are not just lecturers but experts in their fields. The school is very famous for its research work and has undertaken several policy work and consultancy for organisations such as The World Bank Group, Bank for International Settlements, European Central Bank and other multinational firms. My course emphasises the practical application of methods and techniques to various situations in banking, finance and business. It provides a technical knowledge that enables one to proceed to a higher research degree. It is well-structured with modules such as International Banking, Banking and Development, Financial Econometrics, Bank Financial Management, International Financial Markets and other finance-related modules. My favourite aspects of the modules are International Banking as well as Banking and Development. These two modules have a link with my career aspirations.

I am an International Student Ambassador for Bangor University. I chose Bangor University for several reasons: It is highly ranked among the leading universities in the UK, both in terms of research and teaching excellence, especially, in the areas of banking and business. The location was another factor that motivated me to choose Bangor. It is a safe place to be a student because the crime rate in the northern part of Wales is the lowest in the UK. It is also in a scenic location that offers wonderful recreational opportunities. I am living in a hall of residence at Neuadd JMJ. It is well equipped with internet facilities and indoor games. It has wide open spaces conducive for academic discussions. The rooms and kitchen are very well furnished and equipped with modern facilities to support students in a variety of ways. The cost of living in Bangor is lower as compared to many larger cities.
