Overall university was a great experience. I met a lot of friends from many places with many different interests and backgrounds. I was involved in many extra ciricular activities such as radio and clubs - these were good experiences which I still draw on today. The course was very much out of date WHILE I was doing it but I'd say that has been rectified at this point. Resonable time was given to complete assignments but text books are extremely expensive and of course there was rarely the required books in the library because they were always borrowed. Computer facilities were excellent along with other multimedia study materials - so books were not the only way to research.

I actually got my fifth round choice which wasnt terribly good. Aty the time I was drastically scaled down in my HSC results (I actually got 68/100 but was scaled down to 48%). As I did not know what results I was going to achieved I missed the selection due date for ART which closed many months before my exams and selection choices. This was disappointing. Scaling also limited my choice of courses - so I just put on my list the courses which I qualified for in regards to results. We could make six choices and I was granted my fifth choice - obviously not really the course I wanted to do.

I had no access to scholarships or funding because my parents earnt too much.

As I said earlier - the course itself was already out of date while I was studying it. I suppose thats the nature of computers - by the time any new advancements make it to university courses they are no longer new. Having said that there were some units in the course - such as Effective Communication Accounting and Marketing - that were useful to me beyond the course.

The entertainment/nightlife was very active. The area was very inspirational and creative in all forms of Art - visual music performance etc - This was very good for all the students as there was many activities to do outside of uni. The cost of accomodation and food in the area was also reasonable. I'm glad I didnt stay in the uni dorms though.

I suppose it helped me though I didnt really use the degree. I went on to further education in Art at art schools. When I went to Tafe I studied Cert 4 in training and also a website design course - I used the knowledge I had gained from the university course in these courses.
