I want to tell the prospective students that please come to this University to enjoy a quite peaceful student life with all the fun you want to enjoy at a cheaper price. I want a teaching or research oriented position in the future and I think I will achieve that soon.

The best thing about Bangor is that the teachers are friendly and easily approachable. Also, since it is a small place, we can do practically everything by walking. The student life in Bangor is fun and friendly though we have to do a lot of work. However, due to the caring nature of the teachers it is easy to finish our assignments. I have received full support in every sphere of my life from the University; otherwise I could not stay here for 5 years. The course is very helpful for me to increase my job prospects. I am doing a post-doc in the School of Informatics and a BA in combined studies at Department of Lifelong Learning. So the 2 things together will put me in a solid footing in the job market. The favorite aspects of the course at Department of Lifelong Learning is that some of the courses are run on Blackboard, so I can do the courses sitting at home, which is very handy for me as I have to look after a child also.

I chose to come to Bangor University because it is a small place with lots of scenic beauty. Also the cost of living is much cheaper than the rest of UK. Moreover, my supervisor is a well-known person in my field, so everything suited me to choose this place. I came to Bangor on 19 January 2001 and after that I found this place as my second home after Calcutta and went on leaving here. It is hard to be far from home. But, since I have my husband and son with me, it is not that difficult. Moreover, we get all our food in the Asian shop of Bangor and also try to celebrate our festivals with other members of our country.
