I am looking forward to having a great experience at this university.
I wrote my GRE and TOFEL. I did attend Classes but did some self study. I approached the Gyan Foundation counselors. I needed a Visa and the interview was very simple. I got the tickets very easily and I flew through Emirates. It was okay but they did not offer any students fare. I landed at IAH which is 30 minutes far from UH. The Baggage rules are like 23kgs and the cabin Baggage was allowed for 7kgs. No immigration issues and GISO offered a pick up and temporary accommodation.
The professors are brilliant. I am living in a rental apartment. It has decent lecture halls and brilliant library facilities. Bit difficult to find the part time jobs. GISO organises good cultural events. For new students please pick up the right course and do lot of research on subjects.
The social scene is fair. The night life is dull and dry. The weather is pathetic.
No placement cell here and no idea about the job scene. There are very few campus placement processed.
