Year 1 and year 2 are boring .. after that, have fun, in the last two years you are there to have fun.. and do some learning on the side. On the whole, its a very impressive program.

I have lived in the US since I was 1 so no visa or airfare was required. In order to get accepted at UCONN, I was required to take the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Tests) exams while in High School on which the scores determine whether or not you are accepted to your chosen school. The high school I attended offered coaching classes to be successful on such tests and we were required to take these sessions.

There are no assistantships/tuition waivers offered.

I was very impressed with the business technology program. A lot of schools offer programs for Business or Technology .. having the opportunity to get involved in a program that blends the two together made a significant difference in my post graduation career. For the most part, the professors are pretty good. However, there were some classes which I felt were of no value to the students. The Stamford campus of UCONN is just a satellite location; the main UCONN Campus is in Storrs, CT. The lecture halls and class room sizes in Stamford are much smaller than those up in Storrs. An average class in Stamford holds about 45 people where an average class in Storrs holds up to 600 students. The library is a pretty good size at Stamford UCONN, unfortunately though, no one uses it. I dont think I ever stepped into that place in the 4 years of undergraduate studies.

I lived at home during my undergraduate studies. We do not have any full sports facilities. We do, however, have a gym at the Stamford Campus. Fairly easy from my experience with international students. The economic conditions are a bit more difficult nowadays so it may not be as simple today. Stamford is definitely the hub for the social and night life activities in this area. There are Standard 4 seasons here .. gets real hot in the summer, gets real cold in the winter. There is no international student society here that I have heard of.

It is easy for international students to get jobs, given that they have the right workpapers. There is no formal campus placement process in place however, UCONN does have a career development coach on site that helps locate the appropriate opportunities. I have seen little to no activity from the alumni network thats present here. Maybe it is more efficient at the main campus, but almost non-existent at the satellite campus. And it does not help with the placements.
