Melbourne is a beautiful place with lots of attractions. I can never get bored over here. There is always something new and exciting which i have not visited or seen here. I advice all the international students who intend to study here to come and have fun at the same time make a balance between your study, work and fun. You will enjoy out here.
It was very easy to get in but choosing the right course was a bit of a problem. I thought about doing a bachelors degree from uni but it worked out to be very expensive and finally my consultant suggested me to do this diploma in a TAFE, with university pathway later on. After that, i gave him my documents and he arranged everything for me. I am really very grateful to him for making my application easy.
Sadly, i am not being sponsored or funded by anyone. I am paying my own tuition fees. I did not even have any bank loans.
My course is a mix of nany and a teacher. Its a really responsible course that i am doing. The best bits are the kids, we later on get to work with the kids and being around with kids one never gets bored. They are always funny, cute and a little bit of trouble. I have to teach them the basics of education and at the same time take care of them as well and prepare them for their coming education at kinder. I have to study 20 hours per week and my lecturers are very experienced teachers in this field. They are professionals and nice people.
We have a range of facilites provided you get time, i hardly get time from work and study to get involved in clubs and societies. I even dont use the internet at my campus because, we have no time at college. We go there just to study and once we reach home, we have to go to work. Rent is cheap considering what i am paying. However, the location isn't nice as i have to travel an hour to reach my campus and i am yet to find a job in my field. I am working in hospitality field at the moment. Maybe after i spend another semester, i will be more qualified.
My job prospects at the moment have not increased because i am just starting. By the time i graduate, i will have option to either work full time or study BACHELOR of early childhood education from uni. Lets see, if i am happy with my job i wont study further, but if i am not, i really want to be a kindergarden teacher.
