I attended Bradley University of Peoria in ,Illinois state. Should I give you the usual speech? Anyway here goes - Millions of people may have already told you this but US education is indeed top class. Information Technology in my opinion develops a lot of practical insight which helps you tackle any industry in the future. Why did I choose Bradley? Even in the IITs the research in database administration is not the best. The research interest of the school matched mine and hence the choice.
I had a great GRE score and I had an 800/800 in quants. I never failed a single course in my Undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Technology student in Computer Science and Engineering). I was ranked first in my class in the 1st and 3rd semesters and had done my project at TCS - so all this helped.
I was able to get aid after I came to the US.
The Study experience was great . There is a lot of emphasis on self learning here. There is not much spoon feeding from the professors like it is India. They unearth your true research potential.
There are a number of Indians in the US. In fact there were a number of people from Andhra also so there was absolutely no problem.
