Hi Guys this is Aswath and I am pursuing my PhD in Computer Engineering. I am in San Diego State University. The College is expensive and the cost per year including the tuition and everything is approx 30,000$/year. So guys please keep this is in mind while deciding the university.Be well prepared for all your prior stuff including the visa stuff. Life in US becomes a bit difficult atleast for a month after you move in.The college is great with great research facilities and great staff. The research in VLSI is far more advanced and the university is ranked higher for the CE department as compared to EE or CS.The campus is okay not so great but there is a good bus service for commuting to various part of the city. The houses here are expensive specially if you live on campus but it is necessary to stay in the campus for the first year. If you are coming for a PhD program chances are you would get a TA/RA from India itself as it was in my case.The city life is awesome because San Diego is the most happening city in California.City is moderate never cool but sometimes hot. The on campus jobs are many and it wont be difficult for you to find one. The job scenario is good in the area of California so that shouldnt be a problem.In totality a nice university to complete your graduation/post graduation.
