I transferred to Liverpool John Moores University from another university in the U.K, although LJMU was always my first choice. I was very much attracted to LJMU's reputation, especially in the sports science area, where the department was awarded 5* for research. No other institution has that high a grade. The prospect of living in Liverpool as a city was also a big attraction, I really enjoy football, and although i'm an Arsenal fan, it is ideal to live in a football city.
The research laboratories are world class, and there are not many of this standard around the country. The equipment used is state of the art, and we have the latest hi-tech machinery for researching motion analysis and reaction time. My teachers are very supportive and have really made me feel welcome, they are approachable and easy to talk to. The academic staff and the rest of the students are really friendly and helpful.
I live in Victoria Halls accommodation, which is very nice and comfortable. It is secure, spacious, and only a two minute walk from my lectures. In my spare time I play for the LJMU womens football team, and I enjoy socialising with friends and occasionally going to the the cinema, and of course going to football matches. I feel that Liverpool John Moores University has alot to offer International students. Liverpool has a lot of character and plenty of oppurtunities to get involved with student life.
