I was in the US on Dependent visa, even befor I applied to the university. A masters degree goes a long way in landing a good job in the IT sector. This fact prompted me to apply at the UNVA. The academic part is good here..very flexible and challenging.
I came to the US on dependent Visa. I had constraints on working as a dependent resource. And also I found it tough to get a job in the IT sector. So I decided to pursue MS in Computer Science. Based on my exams scores-GRE / TOFEL, I was able to get an admission at UNVA. As the result of admission, my visa status has been changed to F1, but that took me around 6 months.
I enjoy the education over here. Most of the home works, assignments has to be submitted Online. Every discussion or clarifications with professors have to be typed in a Public Discussion board in our Internal Education Portal. We can also read the past clarification questions. These forums help us to solve the doubts and gain a strong foundation.
I am staying with my friends. I am used to this city. Earlier I was living with my family, but to be closer to the university at Annandale I have moved in with my friends.
We have an active Campus placement Department. We have friends or classmates working with Government projects. We also have Internal Online Portals, Blogs, forums where we share the Job Opening details.
