I would say is if you are really interested in PhD and find the program you would like to pursue, come over and you would gain serious knowledge.

GRE and TOEFL are good to go. Preparation should be perfect to get a great score and later admission right.F1 Visa, interview was nothing much to worry about. Getting tickets was easy, I took Jet Airways. Experience was super cool. No, I didn't get any student fare. I flew from India to Chicago, to Raleigh, where the University is located. Baggage rules were 1 cabin bag, 2*23kgs luggage's allowed. No I didn't face any immigration issues. Indian association "Maitri" members picked me up from airport.

PhD is fully funded and so nothing to worry about TA/RA.

As I'm in PhD, my work is with my boss and mentor.Other professors are good, scope for improvement is always there. Lecture Halls are good. Library is vast.

I'm staying in off-campus apartment in Avery Close Apartments.Full sports facilities and a special sports center. Been studying here past 5yrs I have never seen any kind of worries of the place or violence. Night life is relaxing with all friends around. Weather is ok. Well the Indian association conducts time to time parties for Indian students so it's fun.

Placement cell is there in the University. There is campus placement process in place. Work permit process is cool. There is no alumni society as such I know.
