I took courses which I was interested in & some of them are challenging. Proffs are very devoted and dedicated. There are plenty of job prospects off- campus as well as on campus.

I gave SAT & TOEFL to be able to apply for admission & depending upon these scores I got admitted in the universities I applied to. I prepared for the SAT with the help of Princeton’s & Barons 2008 book. I did need a F1 student visa. I applied for the visa interview very early, i.e. around 1st week of May so I got the visa very easily & quickly. I prepared for the interview & it lasted for only 45 seconds. I went to US on the Continental which is a 14 hour nonstop flight Delhi-Newark. It is very good & comfortable if your destination is around the north-east of US as the stop over is in Newark but very tiring if your final destination is another 2 hour flight in US. 23 kg each bag – 2bags were allowed. No immigration problems were encountered. The pick up service was organized by the motel we were living in for the first 2 days.

Scholarships in OSU are given on the basis of SAT, TOEFL scores, transcripts (mark sheets of 9, 10, 11&12) & extra-curricular achievements. Plenty of scholarships are given to international students as it is a public university with as many as 48% of students being international out of 10000 undergrad students.

I live in the student hostel; its okay. There are plenty of international student societies. There also two Indian societies called Indian Student Association (ISA) & IAA (Indian American Association). There are plenty of job prospects off- campus as well as on campus. The nature & requirement of the on-campus jobs are posted on the university’s website.

The university has a placement cell. However placements are possible only after the first year.
