I will be sad to leave Iowa State because of all the wonderful memories and friendships that I have made, 'Jenn said. 'I know that Iowa State has prepared me in so many ways as an individual and a future teacher. I have learned so much and look forward to my teaching career as I feel Iowa State has done everything possible to make sure I am 100 percent ready to step foot into a classroom, and that is a great feeling. Iowa State has truly helped me to believe that I was destined to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities, and I couldn't thank all of my wonderful professors enough for helping me find my calling in life as a family and consumer sciences teacher.'

When I got into eighth grade I started taking family and consumer sciences courses. My teacher, Mrs. Seaton, was really caring and open. She really wanted to help me in any way she could and had a really big influence on where I am today. My education has also been complemented by the Center for Technology in Learning and Teaching (CTLT), which is a lab for students who want to become teachers. It definitely is great. I love to go down there in my free time and browse through materials or eat my lunch there.

My final class last semester, my professors had us all over for dinner and we all cried because they are like our mothers. It was very nice; we have a very special relationship. We're like a family in FCS. I know those close relationships will last beyond Iowa State.
