It is a highly enjoyable course, enabling us to learn the most current insights into the science of environment. The lecturers are highly competent and the course itself is very vocational, providing the students to carry out environmental test procedures in the laboratories. The students themselves are very diverse, providing the valuable opportunities to network and learn to environmental practices in different countries
The process was very easy due to the fact that I was helped by the university representative in my country -ibec-. They guided me thoroughly through each phases of the application process, including the visa application. They also held a briefing session two months before departure to UK, explaining the necessary preparations to be made to adapt properly to the life in UK.
The university granted me two bursaries, in total sum of GBP 4,500. The information of which I found while browsing the University website. The Uni staffs were very helpful in providing me pertinent information regarding the bursaries.
The best aspect of the course is the fact that all the classes and laboratory sessions are squeezed in two days every week, Monday and Tuesday. It does rather test the students stamina and concentration since each of those days would last 8-10 hours. However, it enables the students to pursue other interests outside their courses and gain precious experiences through the rest of the week, e.g. working part-time and volunteering.
The downside of studying this course is the fact that there are not much going on in the city of Uxbridge, which is about 1 hour journey to central London - it could get very boring there. However, this unfortunate condition is offset by the vibrant student societies and the assistance provided by the university in finding part time jobs and volunteering opportunities.
Generally speaking, the course graduates are sought after in UK. However, due to the current recession it has been quite difficult to find employment
