Coming from a cultural and literary studies background, I wanted to give myself an edge in the business and management related parts of the media. This is what I found in the Media Management course here at the Centre for Cultural Policy Research and in its co-operation with the Glasgow Business School, something that showed me new and more analytical ways of looking at business issues.
The course gave a broad overview of many different kinds of media issues and the challenges that the media are facing, from economics to politics and management, which opened up many possibilities for up-to-date research. Having graduated with the MSc in Media Management in December 2008, I am busy doing an internship in the advertising department of a magazine in Berlin, adding work experience to the theory
All in all, a very good and successful year, owing much to the experience offered at the University of Glasgow and to the City of Glasgow and Scotland, and not least to the people one might have the luck of meeting here and making friends with.
