I did PhD in Microbiology. I chose to study at LJMU because I met alumni who introduced me to Professor Whalley and then I got an opportunity to meet and discuss my project with him. He gave me really good advice. I was so impressed with him, so I decided to go for LJMU.
The best thing of course is the knowledge that I got from there. Besides, I also had opportunities to attend many conferences and meet lots of people. All of these have widened my vision. To study in the UK, I worked much harder than I did in Thailand. It was because, first of all, English is not my first language so I have to try harder to be able to communicate with my supervisors and my colleagues. Second, the education system there taught me to be better in the education sense. Cause the supervisors would guide me but I also needed to go to the library or search the internet for whatever I wanted to do and go back to discuss with them. It is kind of self-service system. You cannot just wait for supervisors to help you, you have to help yourself as well.
It was really good. I went there and what I got back is not only my knowledge, but also friendship from my lovely friends from all over the world. I had learned to live with others and I also experienced many things that I would never imagine before...
