When choosing a vocational course, do some research about your job prospects before you begin. If you speak to people in the industry you can make better informed choices and possibly do work shadowing.
I applied from the UK - the international students' office & immigration department in London were very helpful.
Not elligible for scholarships as an international student. ANTA (Australia Natural Therapy Association) offer a $1000 prize for students who submit suitable articles.
21 contact hours a week plus home study in the evenings, work weekends and usually get one day off a week.
Finding part time work was easy but I had to look further to get paid properly. I went on the ski trip in my first year and Student Activities were very friendly. The staff at the gym are great too. I rent a place with 2 guys and it's affordable - just and we get along really well. I find the australians very welcoming.
Prospects have definitely improved, am already working for myself part time as a remedial massage therapist. Also made great contacts within the faculty staff.
