UTDallas is a growing institution, and yet offers some of the worlds best facilities. For students coming to visit: There are plenty of Indians, but be prepared to miss your family. The education more than makes up for this.

No, with good scores, it was not too difficult to get in. Since I got a scholarship, the visa process was not particularly painful.

The university does offer scholarships. Check out the UTD financial aid page. There are plenty of scholarships available for smart students.

Electrical engineering is inherently difficult and demands a lot of work. I have 15-18 hours of lectures a week. The staff was indeed helpful and well qualified. The course was definitely valuable for the money I paid. For students: Don't fall behind! Keep up with your readings and stay ahead of the class. It's hard to catch up later.

The nearest city is Dallas. The campus is in a suburban setting. The people were very friendly(not the stereotypical country bumpkins if you think this.) There are many campus organizations to join such as the Student Government, Chess Club, Extreme Sports Club, and Greek organizations.

My job prospects are certainly increased. I do intend to keep in touch with fellow alumni, some of them are my best friends.
