I enjoyed life as a student in Republic Polytechnic because it gives me room to explore on my own and go beyond textbooks. I would gladly advice for the students to be clear of what they are passionate and pursue that course so that they would find the process of obtaining the qualification exciting and would be more motivated to press on to finish the modules.
Republic Polytechnic is quite a new polytechnic is Singapore so the admission criterias are not very high now. It's rather easy to get a place in the school but the diplomas would varies with your grades. I went in through the JAE process after O levels so it was quite an straightforward process.
There are plenty of scholarship and funding opportunities available and you can usually find them through the school websites or general scholarship given by government and private companies that are willing and the importance of building up talents. For singaporeans, there are many ways to secure financial assistance....you can look up CDC, merdeka and even go through your school to get busary to help pay for the fees as long as you meet the criterias.
Personally , I think my course can get very fun and hands on. The best bits is when you get to really use what you learn in a real life event or start making sense of the things around (like in magazines) due to the knowledge gain in classes. There are 3 study periods which total up to 5hours and break periods in between for us to get some work done to share at the end of the day. I don't really receive a lot of study support but our facilitators are all approachable people. I believe that a course value isn't determined by the modules but rather by what its gives to the students. If this is so, then the course would be priceless because not only is it interesting, the companions also help to make learning a more interesting expereience
There aren't really a lot of things needed for my course, but i have seen how the school invest in equipments for the other courses and some of which are really good. I enjoy most about the surrounding of my school is the park nearby because it feels relaxing. Find job part time is easy in Singapore and our school hours are fixedso it makes it much more easy to get a job. I don't really have much memory of student union in my schools but there is an international student IG which would host many events for the members as well
Yes, i believe I would be able to find better jobs with the diplomas because it teaches me skills using softwares that are necessary and an advantage in the industry. It wouldn't be tough because the school has a club for the graduated students and with social media websites now, it reduces the difficulty.
