Deakin offers very good study and learning environment with reliable and qualified lecturers that do not teach you what's in the book but rather encourage you to think out of the box. Deakin has very helpful administration staff that one day you'll be dealing with. Almost all administration stuff can be done through the internet, and they have very state of the art education support system that I reckon one of the bests in Australia. I am doing masters in applied finance now at other Victorian university, and one day I saw something impolite behaviour of an administration staff to an international student. I reckon that was because this uni has too many international students, so they do not respect international student as Deakin does. The tuition fees (esp. for International students) were relatively cheaper compared to other Victorian universities, so it was really value for money. Deakin is still dominated by local students, so you could form an assignment group together with them, whilst you could enhance your english and broaden your way of thinking. I reckon, if you want to get the essence of studying in Australia, it's better you choose the uni that has less international student, otherwise you would only be hanging out and making friends only with those who are from the same country as you are and miss the opportunity to expand your network and your international experience.
It was easy and was comprehensive. It was not a hassle at all after all. If you have high school certificate, you simply come to Australian education agency such as IDP, and I do recommend you to take the pathway from MIBT especially if that's your first time overseas by yourself. It would help you to adjust yourself to Australian education system, and the class is relatively small so there would be active-two way discussions between lecturers/tutors and students. Once you completed the diploma, based on academic merit, you'll get direct entry to Deakin university and continue your study at Deakin for your bachelors. To get an Australian visa is not a hassle. If you satisfy all the requirements, they'll definitely give you a visa.

The assignments I had back then were very practical and up to date, suited and tailored to what the industry expected. They explained all my questions in most simple and logical forms without eliminating the essence of the concept. Local people are friendly, nice food, nice environment. The campus is not that big, but still retaining great learning atmosphere.
Based on my own experience, employers do not only look at which university you graduated from, or what your grade point average is. They value your life experience. So make sure you dont spend your whole time at deakin on books. In the same time, you can contribute something to your community, student organisation, or the university itself. This would attract potential employers in employing you in their organisation. Deakin has several practical courses that embodies hands-on experience. This would also help you to get real life experience that would be attractive for employers. I got a job as business analyst from a reputable Japanese car manufacturer one month after I graduated. So good luck for your future.
