The University experience is amazing. I like the professionalism at the work place. People are friendly, yet professionally demanding and expecting.
The selection process was fairly competitive. The visa process to the US was painful in the sense that if not started on time, incessantly long paperwork processing time can delay the entire process. A streamlined process can be put in place to handle paperwork related issues in a timely manner.
I am on a research internship currently. The facilities are excellent; I am not on a study abroad program.
The University is set in a town. There isn't too much of a city life here. The locals are very friendly and it is very easy to fit in. As I am on a J1 I am not eligible for part time work. Although there are several clubs and organisations very few of them are active during the summer. There is an international student center for international students.
I am interested to go to graduate school abroad. The current experience will definitely help me in that endeavour. I am in touch with my colleagues constantly, and will continue to do so after returning to India.
