Overall, it's great. Of course there are always the stresses of deadlines and such, but in general, it's fun to learn new stuff and have a campus experience. I'd recommend that as a student, you join some student activities, because university life is more than just studying - the activities complete your experience!

With a local representative, it was easy to apply for schools abroad and get all the necessary documents ready. I suggest you consult local representatives who are experienced in such matters, rather than try settle everything by yourself.

I'm doing a degree in Arts, majoring in Communications and Sociology. Arts students take an average of (4units)x(3hours) per semester, so that's 12 hours per week. The teaching staff I've had so far are well-learned, able, enthusiastic, encouraging and willing. Especially because I am an international student who is unfamiliar with local ways, that does help a lot. Monash has a english and learning centre which students can go to for help. This is especially useful for students who might perhaps lack writing/english skills necessary for an Arts course that requires much writing.

Monash provides good facilities (though I must admit some are rather expensive :P). My campus is located in the suburb of Clayton. While some city folk might find it too boring, I find it a good environment for students as it helps us to concentrate on school. In general, people are friendly. However, I mix more with fellow Asians. There are clubs which cater to specific international groups (eg, Singapore club, malaysian club, japanese club). There are also other interest and religious groups. I recommend joining a club/society for a full university experience. It also helps you get to know more people.

I'm not sure about this because i haven't actually gone out to apply for jobs or internships yet. i doubt i'll join the alumni association, but i'll definitely keep in touch with friends i've made in my time here in uni.
