Even though UCL provides students with an endless list of courses, each faculty is well-supported and well funded. Extracurricular life is exciting and students can expect to learn a wide range of life skills they always wanted to learn. Student support is excellent, UCL has various dedicated departments to meet your every needs in studying in London. Prospective students should be prepared to be pushed by the demands of the course. However, at the end of the day, any student will feel very satisfied having completed their course with UCL
UCL has a strict entry requirement, but bear in mind that different courses has different requirements. You will also need 2 references from your personal tutor or former employer. After you get accepted and sent with the official papers, Visa application should be a formality.
Limited scholarships for international students, and they do not cover the whole amount needed to cover the annual school fee.
As I am reading a masters degree, independent study is expected. Formal lectures are 8 hours a week, supplemented with tutorials every fortnight. All students are expected to prepare well before every lecture to get the most out of it. But overall, having a postgraduate degree from a prestigious university in England good value for money.
Living in London can be a bit daunting at first, but any student will inevitably adapt quickly and have a full and fun student life. UCL has fantastic academic facilities, but being located in central London, Sporting facilities are quite restricted. UCL provides with various types of accommodation, catering to different needs and different pockets. The student body is extremely diverse, it reflects on its slogan: London's Global University. Any student will definitely be exposed to an international outlook of things and learn different cultures simultaneously. International student in UK are allowed to gain part-time job, and there are plenty of opportunities of that in London. There are also Indonesian societies in most London Universities, you will feel assured to meet your countrymen!
I feel my degree will afford me with a decent employment prospect. Being ranked to be one of the best universities in the world helps too. However, i feel that looking for employment has to be personally-driven. It is up to us, graduates, to 'sell' ourselves to the job market. There is a strong alumni base in UCL and the university will keep you up-to-date with the latest developments of the University.
