Just believe in yourself.. if you know what you what to do.. you’ll find every opportunity to do it! My course program was very good and I had simply brilliant professors. We had good facilities and I was pretty happy with the whole package.

My visa interview experience was pretty easy – one shot. I was lucky I guess! I had to take up SAT & TOEFL. No preparation reqd for TOEFL. For SAT read some book (I think Barrons). I did not attend any coaching classes, though I had an educational counselor, RP Singh, to help me. It was pretty easy to get tickets…got them through my agents–Air Cruise Travels New Delhi. I don’t really remember which airlines… been a long time, but it was good though they did not offer any student fare. I landed at Cincinnati which is 45 min from my institution. I don’t remember the baggage rules exactly, but certainly much more then now. Excess baggage was allowed if you paid for it. I did not face any issues at the immigration office. My brother picked me up. But the Indian Students’ Association does offer an Airport Pickup if you get in touch with them.

I am very happy with my program. My professors were very good. In fact they were brilliant! For 1 year I lived in the university accommodation. They were fun places to be in! I then moved to Studio Apt. The lecture halls and libraries are very good. We did have good sports facilities at the RPAC/Larkins/Jesse Owens sports centres.

Its pretty easy for international students to get part time jobs in the university. Social scene is Excellent! And the night life is Awesome! We have very cold winters and very pleasant summers. There is an Indian student society at the university which handles events like Diwali, Holi, Dhandia, etc.

The university does have a placement cell. Its not easy for international students to get jobs, Americans are preferred always – obviously. There is a campus placement process, it’s a long story... pls go to ECS.Ohio-state.edu. Hundreds of global organizations like Microsoft, IBM, Ford, GM, Cterpillar, Morgan Stanley, Citi Group, Chase, Accenture attend these placement events. The work permit process takes time, but is very organized and easy to follow. We have a pretty active alumni society here, but I am not sure if it helps with placements.
