Sewanee the University of The South was founded in 1857. It is located in Sewanee, Tennessee. Sewanee is a national liberal arts university and is composed of an undergraduate College of Arts and Science, a graduate School of Theology of the Episcopal Church, and a School of Letters through which it offers a masters degree program in English and Creative Writing. The Institution offers 36 majors, 27 minors, and 15 special programs, along with pre-medicine, pre-nursing, pre-law and pre-business programs.
